A bit about us:We are an established, nationally recognized plaintiff-side litigation firm handling complex, high-stakes matters involving serious personal injury, workplace injuries, maritime and offshore accidents, mass actions, and other significant civil litigation.
This is a true litigation environment. Our attorneys and staff work cases with the expectation that matters may ultimately proceed through litigation and trial rather than simply being pushed toward quick resolution. The environment is fast-moving, hands-on, and best suited for someone who knows how to take ownership, stay ahead of deadlines, and keep a heavy docket moving.
Our maritime and Jones Act practice is an important part of the firm, and we are looking for an experienced Litigation Paralegal who can support an associate attorney handling Louisiana maritime and Jones Act matters.
Why join us?- Work directly on sophisticated maritime, Jones Act, offshore injury, and plaintiff litigation matters.
- Own cases from beginning to end rather than being limited to one narrow portion of the process.
- Blend traditional litigation work with meaningful client interaction and medical coordination.
- Work closely with experienced plaintiff trial attorneys on significant cases.
- Join a growing practice with a busy docket and immediate need for strong support.
- High level of autonomy for someone who knows how to manage cases and stay ahead of attorneys.
- Gain deeper exposure to a highly specialized area of plaintiff litigation that can significantly strengthen your long-term career
Job DetailsWhat you'll do:
- Support an associate attorney managing Louisiana maritime and Jones Act matters.
- Manage assigned cases from intake through litigation, settlement, and resolution.
- Serve as an ongoing point of contact for clients and provide meaningful case updates.

- Coordinate medical treatment and follow up with clients to ensure treatment remains on track.
- Request, organize, and maintain medical records and medical bills.
- Assist with demand packages and demand letters.
- Maintain case calendars and closely track litigation and court deadlines.
- Prepare and complete electronic court filings.
- Assist with pleadings, discovery, responses, subpoenas, and other litigation documents.
- Coordinate depositions, hearings, appointments, and other case-related deadlines.
- Communicate with medical providers, insurance representatives, opposing counsel, and other parties as appropriate.
- Maintain organized and complete case files.
- Assist attorneys with deposition, mediation, hearing, and trial preparation.
- Handle administrative/legal assistant responsibilities when needed to keep cases moving.
- Independently prioritize work across a busy docket without needing constant direction.
What we're looking for:
- 3+ years of experience working within a law firm environment.
- Strong hands-on litigation paralegal or litigation case management experience.
- E-filing experience is required.
- Strong understanding of calendaring, court deadlines, and litigation procedures.
- Plaintiff-side personal injury experience strongly preferred.
- Experience managing cases from intake through litigation and resolution.
- Medical coordination experience, including treatment follow-up, records, bills, and client communication.
- Maritime, Jones Act, admiralty, offshore injury, or Louisiana maritime experience is highly preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple active matters in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong client communication and organizational skills.
- Comfortable taking initiative and identifying what needs to happen next without waiting for an attorney to direct every step.
