FPT isawholly-ownedbusiness ofCleveland-Cliffshas an immediate opportunity foraMaintenance TechnicianatthePontiac MIlocation.TheMaintenance Technicianis responsible forthe repair and maintenance of machinery and production equipment.Summary ofResponsibilitiesEnsure adherence to safety standards including use of required personal protective equipment PPE remove hazards asidentified andmaintaincleanliness of the site.Visually inspects andlistensto machines and equipment tolocatemalfunctions.Changes hose assemblies and conveyor beltsRemoves and replaces worn or defective parts of the drive mechanism or hydraulic system.Locates damaged air and hydraulic pipes on machines and install new pipesStarts machines and equipment to test operation following repairPerform cleaning duties related toyard andplant equipment and general housekeepingInspect troubleshoot repair &maintainall plant and yardequipment and machinesTorch cutting and weldingOther duties as assigned.MinimumQualificationsHigh School DiplomaGEDand must be at least 18 years of age.Minimum of one year of experience as a machine repair technician.2 yeartrade school preferredExperience with mobile equipment repair preferred.Basic knowledge of mechanical pneumatic hydraulic and electrical systems.Strong attention to detail.Ability to work independentlyself motivatedand self-directed.Good communicationand interpersonal skillsAbility tomaintainaccuraterecordsAbility tofollow oral and written communicationAbility to climb ladders or steps to reach objectsAbility to endure physical and outdoor workon a daily basis.Ability toliftupto 50lbs.Workcooperatively with other employees and the publicMust be able to work in an environment where routinely exposed to dust dirt vibrations extremeclimateand changes in weather.Pre-Employmentbackground physicaland hair drug screenrequiredFerrous Processing and Trading is a subsidiary of Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. the largest flat-rolled steelcompanyand the largest iron ore pellet producer in North America.Cleveland-Cliffs is vertically integrated from mined raw materials direct reduced iron and ferrous scrap to primary steelmaking and downstream finishing stamping tooling and tubing.We offer an excellent total compensation package includingcompetitive pay health insurance retirement plan educationassistance paid time offand more.Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. is committed to working with and providing reasonable accommodation to individuals with disabilities.
