1ST SHIFT MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN NEEDED - SHELBY TOWNSHIP, MICHIGAN
A Leading Steel Processing Company near Shelby Township, Michigan needs a 1st Shift Maintenance Technician. Candidates should have 5 years of Maintenance experience in a Manufacturing Plant Setting. Prospective Candidates should have a strong Mechanical Aptitude and the ability replace defective parts in heavy industrial machinery and do Preventive Maintenance. Strongly Preferring Candidates with 480 Volt Electrical Experience and Hydraulics Background. The Working Hours are 5 AM to 3 PM Daily with some Paid Overtime.
This is a Full Time, Permanent, Direct Hire Position offering Competitive Compensation, Bonus Potential, Good Benefits, Paid Holidays and Paid Vacation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Follow preventive maintenance schedule for each machine, greasing gears/ fittings, inspecting parts for wear, monitoring lubricant levels
Electrical troubleshooting skills
Fully participate in and support the Company's Quality System
Comply with safety requirements in area, specifically hard hat and safety glasses
Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
Dismantles devices to gain access and to remove defective parts.
Repairs or replaces defective parts Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
Repairs Electrical Equipment.
Report any quality concerns, including stopping production to prevent a nonconformance, to the immediate supervisor.
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
Hydraulic / Pneumatic background a plus
5 years experience in an industrial setting, metal slitting environment preferred
Must possess basic reading, writing and math skills.
Steel Slitter Machine Experience including Coil Cars, Turnstiles & Arbors
Tooling set-up computer program
Calipers, Micrometers, Olsen, Rockwell, Gamma Gauge
