    We're on the lookout for a Logistics Coordinator to help keep our inbound ocean freight moving smoothly from origin ports to our distribution network. In this role, you'll manage the day-to-day movement of ocean containers from vessel arrival through final delivery, coordinating with steamship lines, rail ramps, drayage partners, and warehouse teams along the way. You'll play a key role in keeping shipments on schedule, managing transportation costs, and quickly resolving issues that could impact delivery.     In This Role

    • Monitor ocean vessel arrivals, container availability, and rail schedules daily
    • Track ocean freight booking releases and confirmations, and maintain key milestones in the transportation management system
    • Maintain accurate transit times in the ERP to ensure receiving and planning teams have reliable arrival dates
    • Assign container pickups to approved drayage partners
    • Coordinate and schedule delivery appointments with warehouse receiving teams based on inbound capacity
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for warehouse receiving teams, aligning inbound flow with dock capacity and resolving delivery questions
    • Monitor port last free days and coordinate timely container pickup to minimize demurrage, per diem, and detention charges
    • Report detention and demurrage charges and exposure, tracking causes and trends to support cost prevention
    • Resolve logistics bottlenecks, including customs holds, gate congestion, and chassis shortages
    • Prepare and distribute a daily inbound shipment summary highlighting arrivals, exceptions, and priorities
    • Other duties as assigned, in accordance with training and qualifications

    The Ideal Person

    • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field
    • 1–3 years of experience in ocean import logistics, drayage coordination, or port operations
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and transportation management systems
    • Strong understanding of port terminal operations, steamship lines, rail ramps, and chassis pools
    • Excellent multitasking, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to stay organized and make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment
