Position Summary
A litigation practice is seeking a motivated and experienced Litigation Attorney with a strong background in class and collective action litigation. Experience prosecuting or defending wage?and?hour matters, including claims under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and related state laws, is highly desirable.
This role is suited for a seasoned litigator who is comfortable handling active litigation responsibilities, collaborating with partners and briefing teams, and managing complex matters through resolution.
Roles and Responsibilities
Advocacy
Represent clients in depositions, hearings, mediations, and other legal proceedings
Prepare for and participate in trials and arbitration hearings alongside senior counsel
Discovery
Draft written discovery requests, responses, deficiency notices, and subpoenas
Assist in responding to discovery served on clients
Review and analyze documents produced in discovery
Legal Research & Analysis
Collaborate with briefing attorneys on legal research and written submissions
Analyze applicable laws, case precedent, and legal authorities relevant to claims and defenses
Drafting Legal Documents
Prepare or assist with pleadings, motions, correspondence, and other litigation documents
Settlement & Alternative Dispute Resolution
Participate in settlement negotiations and mediations
Attend formal and informal settlement conferences
Engage in settlement?related motion practice
Case Management & Collaboration
Assist with proactive management of a docket of active and settled matters
Work collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, and legal staff
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Active bar membership, in good standing
510 years of litigation experience
Significant experience conducting depositions and advocating at court hearings
Some experience presenting evidentiary and legal arguments, including direct and cross?examination at trial
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage complex legal issues with precision and professionalism
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Proficiency with legal research platforms and litigation software
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Experience with trial preparation and high?stakes litigation
Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor junior attorneys and legal staff
Compensation and Benefits
Salary range: $150,000$200,000, based on experience
Billables are 50/ week
Case?specific bonuses tied to origination, results, and/or time expended
Annual bonuses based on total hours recorded
