Job Details

The firm's nationally recognized Intellectual Property & Technology practice is seeking outstanding junior- to mid-level IP litigation associates to join its Dallas office. The group represents leading companies in the semiconductor, software, telecommunications, consumer electronics, and emerging technology sectors in disputes that often define the competitive landscape of their industries. Associates work on matters from pre-suit investigation through trial and appeal, with opportunities to take depositions, argue motions, and work closely with technical experts. This is an ideal role for a technically minded litigator who wants to build a career handling sophisticated, high-value IP disputes alongside some of the most respected trial lawyers in the field.

Key Responsibilities

Support and manage all phases of IP litigation in U.S. district courts, including pleadings, fact and expert discovery, claim construction, dispositive motions, and trial preparation
Handle Section 337 investigations before the U.S. International Trade Commission, including evidentiary hearing preparation
Draft petitions, patent owner responses, and briefing in inter partes review (IPR) and post-grant review (PGR) proceedings before the PTAB
Analyze complex technologies and work closely with technical experts to develop infringement, invalidity, and damages positions
Take and defend depositions and prepare witnesses as experience allows
Conduct legal research and draft briefs, motions, and client memoranda
Collaborate with clients' in-house legal and engineering teams and help develop client relationships
Mentor and supervise junior associates, paralegals, and technical specialists (for mid-level candidates)

Qualifications

J.D. from an accredited law school with a strong academic record
Active bar membership in Texas, or eligibility and willingness to become licensed in Texas promptly
Approximately 2–5 years of IP litigation experience before U.S. district courts, the ITC, or the PTAB
Undergraduate degree in electrical engineering, computer science, physics, or an equivalent technical discipline preferred
An advanced technical degree or relevant industry experience is a plus
Registration with the USPTO (Patent Bar) is preferred but not required
Excellent written and oral advocacy skills, strong judgment, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
