Job Description
POSITION OBJECTIVE
Working under general direction, but with a high degree of independence, the Campus and Community Engagement Manager is responsible for providing leadership across the organization in the development and implementation of all engagement and outreach strategies to include intellectual and innovative events, publications, and programs. The manager works to build awareness of Kelvin Smith Library¿s services, collections, and programs and to enhance outreach beyond the campus community. The manager works collaboratively with all library teams and actively engages with colleagues across the campus to determine needs and integrate that information into customized programs and events.

CONTACTS
Department: Frequent contact with the Director, Administrative Services on policy and procedural issues, practices, and strategies. Contact with the vice provost and university librarian, associate university librarians, relevant coordinators, committees, and department heads to gain support for engagement and outreach concepts and receive approval. Contact with the Research Services and Engagement Librarians to facilitate collaboration on various library programs, services, resources, etc.
Continuous contact with the Outreach and Engagement Coordinator.
University: Regular contact with University Marketing and Communications staff to ensure distribution of press materials to promote the library on campus, local, regional and national media to raise local visibility of library events and programs. Occasional contact with related departments on campus (including Admissions, Alumni Engagement, Annual Giving, and Student Affairs) to implement activities and programs to attract and retain students and donors.
External: Occasional interaction with community partners (Cleveland, East Cleveland and surrounding areas) for developing and implementing programs and events.
Students: Moderate contact with students working at the library and students studying at the library.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has one nonexempt direct report, Outreach and Engagement Coordinator; as well as oversees student employees that assist with marketing and outreach communications.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience: 3 or more years of related work experience in outreach and engagement.
Education: Bachelors degree
REQUIRED SKILLS
WORKING CONDITIONS
General office/library environment. Some projects may involve prolonged viewing of a computer screen and sitting for extended periods of time. The employee will perform repetitive motions using a computer mouse and keyboard to type. Some evening/weekend hours when library programs are held outside of regular business hours.
Hybrid Eligibility
This position is eligible for hybrid work arrangement up to two remote days per week at the discretion of the department. New employees may begin a hybrid schedule upon approval from the supervisor, successful completion of an orientation period and signing the remote work checklist certification form.
