Orbis is looking for a Legal Intern to support its legal, contracts, and compliance functions this summer. You'll work directly with Orbis staff on real contract language, regulatory research, and compliance questions that arise inside a national security and intelligence technology company.
This role is designed for an undergraduate student with an interest in law, government contracting, or national security or a 1L or 2L.
Duties/Responsibilities
Legal research, contract review assistance, and compliance-related inquiries
Administrative tasks such as contract filing and organization
Assist with drafting, organizing, and tracking legal and business documents including agreements, policies, and process documentation
Support contract lifecycle activities — tracking action items, flagging key dates and obligations, and maintaining organized records
Compile research findings and assist in preparing summaries, briefings, and internal reports for leadership
Assist with general operational and administrative support across team initiatives as needed
Required Skills/Abilities
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program with demonstrated interest in pursuing a legal career
Strong research, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to organize information and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Must be able to work 20 to 24 hours per week during the internship period
Desired Skills/Abilities
Pursuing a degree in Political Science, International Relations, Business, Pre-Law, Intelligence Studies, Intelligence, Criminal Justice, or a related field
Coursework or academic projects in law, policy, contracts, compliance, or regulatory analysis
Interest in national security, government contracting, or intelligence-sector legal environments
Prior internship, research, or academic experience involving writing, analysis, or document management
Physical Requirements
Sedentary Work: Primarily performs work in a seated position for extended periods of time; occasionally required to stand, walk, or move about the work area
Fine Motor Skills: Regularly required to use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other standard office equipment
