Company Overview McDermott Will & Schulte is a leading global law firm that supports more than 1,700 lawyers and 1,400 business professionals.Position Overview Legal Practice Specialist – Private Client practice group.Essential Functions & ResponsibilitiesBuild effective working relationships with clients, internal and external, in a friendly and professional manner.Support document preparation: editing, proofreading, redlining for accuracy and formatting.Manage attorney Outlook email and calendar, providing reminders and meeting deadlines.Ensure accuracy of contact information in Outlook and firm databases.Coordinate meeting logistics: video/audio conferencing, room assignments, hand‑outs, catering.Enter, edit, and update attorney time entries in compliance with billing guidelines.Manage monthly client billings, review prebills, liaise with billing department, and ensure timely client invoices.Oversee attorney expense reports and vendor invoices, ensuring complete documentation and prompt submission.Maintain paper and electronic files per firm policies using the document management system.Handle client intake: generate conflict inquiries, open new matters, prepare engagement letters.Maintain client and prospective client information in the CRM.Delegate administrative tasks to support team to leverage time efficiently.Perform complex confidential tasks requiring discretion and diplomacy.Job SpecificationsAt least three (3) years of legal experience.Knowledge of state and federal court rules, civil procedures, electronic filing.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.Strong written and verbal communication skills and professional demeanor.High‑level client service skills with excellent work product.Strong organizational, time‑management, and attention to detail.Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities.Strong problem‑solving skills, initiative, good judgment, and follow‑up.Competence with confidential information, discretion, and diplomacy.Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.Travel as required.Knowledge of trial procedures, databases, filing in various jurisdictions.Physical DemandsThey must sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, stoop, talk, and hear.Occasional lifting up to twenty (20) pounds.Work EnvironmentTypical indoor office environment.Target Hiring RangeUS$85,000 – US$117,000.Benefits & CompensationCompetitive total rewards package with discretionary bonus and comprehensive benefits.DisclaimerThe above statements describe the general nature and level of the work being performed by people within this classification.
