Description:
Are you an experienced Legal Assistant with litigation experience who thrives in a fast-paced, client-focused environment? We are seeking a highly organized professional to support attorneys in a busy Probate Litigation practice. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative legal team where your attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities will make an immediate impact.

What You'll Do
As a Legal Assistant, you'll provide comprehensive administrative and litigation support while serving as a key point of coordination for attorneys and clients. Responsibilities include:
  • Prepare, edit, format, and proofread legal documents and correspondence
  • Draft and assemble pleadings, motions, memoranda, discovery, notices, and other court filings
  • Electronically file documents with state and federal courts
  • Manage digital and physical client files while maintaining document organization and naming conventions
  • Coordinate client and matter intake, engagement letters, and administrative workflows
  • Support billing processes, including editing billing narratives and assisting with pre-bill review
  • Monitor deadlines and proactively remind attorneys of critical dates and month-end requirements
  • Conduct basic legal research using online resources and Lexis
  • Coordinate travel arrangements and other administrative needs
  • Collaborate with attorneys, legal assistants, and internal support teams to ensure exceptional client service

What We're Looking For
  • 2–4+ years of legal assistant or legal secretary experience, preferably supporting litigation practices
  • Probate litigation experience is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of court procedures, filing requirements, and electronic filing systems
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize competing deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to support multiple attorneys in a fast-paced environment
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality
  • Strong client service mindset and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and legal document management systems
  • Experience with legal practice management, billing, and document management software is a plus
  • Notary Public license (or ability to obtain shortly after hire)
