    A boutique law firm specializing in condemnation and eminent domain matters is seeking a Legal Assistant to support two Partners in daily case management and administrative functions. The firm offers a collaborative, professional, and more relaxed environment compared to high-stress litigation practices — making this an ideal role for Legal Assistant seeking a better work-life balance while continuing impactful legal work.

    Position: Legal Assistant – Eminent Domain & Condemnation Practice
    Location: Downtown Houston (100% in office – parking fully paid)
    Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM



    Key Responsibilities

    • Directly assist attorneys with daily case related tasks and assignments

    • Update and maintain internal docket spreadsheets

    • Add and update both internal and external case related deadlines, meetings, hearings, depositions, mediations, and trial settings on a shared calendar

    • Coordinate and prepare attorneys for meetings, hearings, depositions, and mediations

    • Enter time into an internal case-related timekeeping software

    • Draft pleadings, transmittal letters, correspondence, and other case related documents

    • E-file/Federal filing

    • E-record instruments with the real property records of various counties

    • Receive, distribute mail to attorneys

    • Identify and archive resolved case related materials

    • Identify and strategize new projects with attorneys/management

    • Effectively communicate with Houston office attorneys/management for case status updates and/or any firm administrative related tasks



     Qualifications

    • Minimum 2+ years of legal experience

    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and case management systems

    • Experience with e-filing and legal document preparation

    • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills

    • Ability to manage multiple matters while meeting deadlines

    • Professional demeanor and strong communication skills
