A top-tier personal injury law firm in Houston, TX is seeking a skilled Legal Assistant/Legal Secretary to support a high-performing litigation team. Job Title: Legal Assistant / Legal Secretary
Location: Houston, TX (In-Office)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: $70,000 – $90,000 DOE

Position Overview:
This role requires an experienced and proactive legal professional with 5+ years of litigation support experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, adaptable, and committed to delivering excellent support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Draft, revise, and proofread a variety of legal documents, correspondence, and memoranda
  • Schedule depositions, hearings, meetings, and coordinate travel arrangements
  • Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including compiling hearing and trial notebooks
  • Manage expense reports and maintain organized attorney calendars
  • Perform e-filing in state and federal courts and track deadlines
  • Provide administrative and legal support to assigned attorneys and other legal staff
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to firm-wide protocols and policies
  • Collaborate with other legal assistants to ensure seamless support across teams

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years recent experience as a litigation legal assistant or secretary
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Word; strong document formatting skills
  • Typing speed of 55+ WPM
  • Familiarity with court procedures and e-filing systems
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional legal training or certification is a plus
