This firm was established in 1997 and has proudly served as counsel for clients ranging from individuals and new entities to Fortune 500 companies.  Our client, located in the Memorial area, is seeking an Transactional Legal Assistant to join their team!

Transactional Legal Assistant
Location: Memorial | 100% In-Office
Pay: Up to $90K + generous bonuses

Responsibilities
  • Prepare, revise, proofread, format, and finalize a variety of transactional legal documents, agreements, correspondence, and related materials.
  • Assist attorneys with the preparation and organization of documents related to corporate, real estate, business, and other transactional matters.
  • Draft and prepare routine agreements, resolutions, consents, closing documents, signature pages, and other transaction-related documentation.
  • Coordinate all aspects of document execution, including obtaining signatures, notarizations, and distributing fully executed documents.
  • Assist with transaction closings by organizing closing documents, maintaining closing checklists, tracking outstanding items, and compiling final closing sets.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and other internal and external stakeholders while maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor.
  • Answer and manage attorney phone lines and respond to general client and business inquiries.
  • Maintain attorney calendars, coordinate meetings and conference calls, monitor deadlines, and manage scheduling for transactions and other key dates.
  • Organize, review, and maintain client and matter files in both electronic and physical formats.
  • Assist with entity formation and maintenance, including preparing organizational documents, resolutions, consents, and other corporate records as needed.
  • Maintain corporate records, transaction files, and supporting documentation to ensure documents are accurate, organized, and readily accessible.
  • Assist attorneys with due diligence, document review, research, and other administrative or transactional support.
  • Coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, title companies, financial institutions, governmental agencies, and other parties involved in transactions.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with firm procedures, transaction timelines, and critical deadlines.
  • Provide additional administrative and legal support as assigned.

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of transactional legal experience required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of legal secretary or legal assistant experience; law firm experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting attorneys with transactional matters such as corporate, business, real estate, contracts, or related practice areas.
  • Strong knowledge of transactional legal terminology, document preparation, and closing procedures.
  • Experience preparing, formatting, proofreading, and managing complex legal documents and agreements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as document management systems; experience with legal billing software is a plus.
  • Ability to quickly learn new legal software and technology platforms.
  • Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple transactions, priorities, and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive client and business information.
