Legal Assistant – Civil Defense Litigation Columbia, South Carolina | Full-Time, Monday–Friday | In Office Salary Range: $50,000–$60,000 DOE
Collins & Lacy, P.C., an established law firm in Columbia, South Carolina, is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to support our civil defense practice. This is an immediate opportunity to join a fast-paced, collaborative legal team where attention to detail and proactive case management are essential.
Position Overview
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, organized, and comfortable managing a large caseload while anticipating and prioritizing tasks to meet strict deadlines. This role works closely with attorneys and plays a key role in the day-to-day management of litigation matters.
Requirements
Minimum of 2+ years of litigation or legal assistant experience
Excellent typing and dictation skills
Experience handling large litigation cases
Proficiency with Federal and State CM/ECF filing
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office
Experience using a case management system
Ability to work closely with attorneys in a team-oriented environment
Strong analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills
Exceptional attention to detail
Quick learner who accepts accountability for their work
Qualifications
Experience with civil defense matters and mediations
Experience using ProLaw
Experience working with insurance companies and clients
