We're seeking a detail oriented and polished Legal Assistant for several law firms in the DC area. Our clients are seeking candidates with great administrative and legal support experience and tenure.
Candidates will need to report to the Washington, DC offices, hybrid work arrangements will be considered after onboarding.
Salary Range: $70,000-$125,000
Provides high-level administrative and legal support to attorneys and practice groups in a fast-paced professional services environment. Serves as a key liaison with clients and internal stakeholders while ensuring efficient management of administrative, billing, document, and case-related activities.
Key Responsibilities
Manage attorney calendars, schedule meetings, coordinate travel, and support client events.
Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, facilitating communications and delivery of legal services.
Prepare, proofread, edit, and finalize legal and business documents.
Coordinate court filings and maintain compliance with filing requirements.
Assist with document management, including electronic and physical file organization, document productions, and presentation preparation.
Support billing processes, including time entry, invoice coordination, expense reports, and payment follow-up.
Open new matters, prepare engagement documentation, and maintain client records.
Prioritize and manage multiple assignments, deadlines, and workflow requests.
Conduct research and support attorneys with case, project, and administrative needs.
Identify opportunities to improve processes and operational efficiency.
Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in handling sensitive information.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of administrative or legal support experience in a professional services, corporate, or law firm environment.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven setting.
Excellent written, verbal, proofreading, and editing skills.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, anticipate needs, and solve problems proactively.
Strong client service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience using document management, billing, and collaboration systems.
Ability to learn new technology and software applications quickly.
Experience with court filings, legal documentation, or litigation support is a plus.
Compensation
Salary Range: $70,000 - $100,000 annually (Washington, DC)
Preferred Experience
Prior experience supporting attorneys, executives, or professional services teams.
Familiarity with legal, document management, billing, e-filing, and workflow management systems.
