Long-term career growth and advancement opportunitiesPosition OverviewAs a Lead Plumbing Mechanic, you will lead jobsite plumbing operations while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. You will serve as a mentor to your team, helping develop skills and maintain a positive, productive work environment.Typically, this role requires 8 to 10 years of trade experience and a Journeyman Plumber License.What Youll DoLeadership and Team DevelopmentLead, mentor, and support plumbing crewsFoster a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environmentSet expectations and ensure accountability for performance and safetyShare knowledge and help develop less experienced team membersPlanning and ExecutionPlan and organize work activities to ensure project efficiencyCoordinate manpower needs with Project ManagersEnsure materials, tools, and equipment are available and used efficientlyMaintain workflow alignment with project schedulesTechnical ExcellencePerform and oversee all aspects of plumbing installation and workRead and interpret blueprints and specificationsEnsure all work meets applicable codes and trade standardsDeliver clean, professional, and high-quality installationsSafety and ComplianceEnforce OSHA and company safety policies on all job sitesEnsure proper use of PPE and safe work practicesConduct regular safety meetings and address potential hazardsRespond appropriately to incidents and escalate concerns when neededCommunication and CoordinationDelegate tasks clearly and follow up to ensure quality resultsCommunicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other tradesCoordinate work with other crews on multi-trade job sitesSupport customer satisfaction through professional interactionsProblem-Solving and Decision MakingIdentify issues early and develop effective solutionsUse sound judgment to make decisions in the fieldEscalate complex issues when necessaryWhat Were Looking For8 to 10 years of plumbing experience in commercial or residential workJourneyman Plumber License preferredStrong leadership and supervisory experienceSolid knowledge of plumbing systems, codes, and installation practicesAbility to read and interpret blueprints and project documentsDependable, organized, and safety-focusedStrong communication and problem-solving skillsAbility to pass pre-employment screening, including drug screen and background checksWork Environment and Physical RequirementsThis is a hands-on leadership role in a construction environment and may include:Frequent standing, climbing, bending, kneeling, and liftingAbility to lift up to 50 poundsWorking indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditionsDriving between job sites, sometimes for extended periodsExposure to construction materials, tools, and jobsite conditionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.Equal Opportunity EmployerSouthern Air, Inc. is committed to fostering an inclusive workplace.
