Junior Accountant

POSITION SUMMARYCoverFour is building the next generation of sports equipment and performance gear brands across baseball, softball, football, pickleball, soccer, hockey, lifestyle apparel, accessories, and D2C product innovation. As our portfolio expands, we are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Junior Accountant to support and strengthen our financial operations. This role will assist in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close processes, managing payables and receivables, and contributing to the financial reporting and internal control structure of a growing multi-brand organization. The ideal candidate brings strong foundational accounting knowledge, thrives in a fast-paced and evolving environment, and demonstrates ownership, reliability, and a commitment to financial accuracy.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESMaintain the general ledger, including preparation and posting of journal entries.Perform monthly bank, credit card, and account reconciliations.Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice processing and payment tracking.Assist with payroll processing and related reconciliations.Prepare internal financial reports, schedules, and supporting documentation.Monitor and track expenses to support cash flow visibility and working capital management.Assist in maintaining and improving accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.Support inventory and cost accounting processes across multiple product lines.Collaborate with operations, e-commerce, and marketing teams to ensure financial data aligns with business activities.Assist external accountants, auditors, and tax advisors with required documentation and reporting.Contribute to budgeting and forecasting processes as needed.QUALIFICATIONSEducation and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably within a startup, consumer goods, retail, or e-commerce environment.Strong understanding of GAAP principles.Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks Online or similar ERP systems preferred).Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and financial reporting tools.Experience supporting month-end close and financial reporting processes.Exposure to inventory accounting or cost accounting is a plus.CPA certification or CPA-track preferred but not required.Behavioral CompetenciesAttention to detail and financial accuracyStrong organizational and time management skillsOwnership and accountability for assigned responsibilitiesAnalytical thinking and problem-solving abilityAdaptability in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environmentClear and professional communicationProcess improvement mindsetIntegrity and discretion with confidential informationWORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDSThis is an in-office role based in Baton Rouge, LA.Limited travel may be required for training or corporate initiativesRequires extended periods of computer use and financial systems management.#J-18808-Ljbffr
