Description

We are a national staffing firm and are currently seeking a Java Software Engineer for a prominent client of ours. This position is located in Huntsville, AL or Colorado Springs, CO (100% On site). Details of the position are as follows: 
 
Job Details:
  • Pay: $73.35/hr to Start!!
  • 12-month assignment, possibility extension based upon performance and budget.
  • Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (On Site)
  • Position will be responsible for full life-cycle development of complex mathematical algorithms (such as tracking, correlation, guidance, battle management, and radar management) for Java-based military applications.
  • Support full software development lifecycle including generating design artifacts, implementing software changes, supporting design and code reviews, software testing, and resolution of issues found during testing.
  • Actively participate in agile planning and execution using established processes.
  • Software Requirements and architecture development in support of MDS systems.
  • Develop, select, tailor and deploy integration and test processes, tools and metrics.
  • Execute and document integration and test activities and events.
  • Travel may be required up to 10% of the time; Domestically and/or internationally depending on business needs.
  • This position may require the ability to obtain access to an MDA facility. Access to the facility requires a background investigation by U.S. government authorities.
 
Qualifications:
  • This position requires an active U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).
  • Bachelor’s degree required (STEM field).
  • Experienced in the full life-cycle development of complex mathematical algorithms (such as tracking, correlation, guidance, battle management, and radar management) for Java-based military applications.
  • Ability to implement MATLAB based algorithms into Java-based software.
  • Understanding of software development principles including OOP, design patterns, and testing/debugging techniques,
  • Experience using analytical, collaboration, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience working as part of an Agile team.
  • Familiarity with Java J2EE or Java Spring.
  • Knowledge of server-side development and message passing.
  • Experience developing enterprise applications.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office products.
  • Flexibility and willingness to take on unanticipated tasking.
  • Use of common software development and management tools such as git, Nexus, JIRA, Confluence, Maven, and Eclipse.
  • Understanding of standard system engineering design artifacts such as Use Cases and UML diagrams.
  • Security+ or equivalent highly desired.
