IT Asset Manager

Location: Washington, D.C. (Onsite)

Role Overview

This position provides on-site support in Washington, DC, offering enterprise-level expertise in the full lifecycle management of IT assets. The role ensures accurate asset visibility, compliant processes, and efficient operational handling of all hardware assets. The primary responsibility is updating and maintaining asset lifecycle status across various systems and platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain comprehensive IT asset inventories across all customer locations.
• Add, assign, update, and track assets across designated systems including AssetTrack, ServiceNow HAM, APM, and Sunflower databases.
• Create and manage Excel trackers, Adobe documentation, and supporting files for new assets, asset audits, asset transfers, and retirements.
• Upload and organize documentation in ServiceNow, APM, and/or Sunflower databases according to customer procedures.
• Maintain asset accuracy through continuous data validation, reconciliation, and lifecycle updates.
• Perform and support scheduled and ad-hoc asset audits, physical inventories, and reconciliation activities.
• Coordinate with Federal Leads in the management of inventory levels of spare assets across the warehouse, image lab, and stockrooms.
• Serve as the subject matter expert on asset management standards, policies, and best practices.
• Ensure all asset management processes align with customer governance requirements.
• Recommend improvements to inventory workflows, tracking standards, and documentation processes.
• Collaborate with procurement, logistics, engineering, and endpoint teams on asset lifecycle planning.
• Support leadership reporting with metrics, dashboards, and trend analysis for asset health and compliance.
• Be able to support on-site physical work including lifting, unpacking, tagging, transferring, and retiring hardware as needed.

Required Qualifications

• BS degree or equivalent with 12+ years of relevant experience.
• Extensive professional experience in IT Asset Management, Configuration Management, or IT operations.
• Hands-on experience with asset tracking systems such as ServiceNow, AssetTrack, APM, Sunflower, or similar enterprise platforms.
• Proficiency in Excel, Adobe PDF documentation, and inventory management workflows.
• Organizational discipline, accuracy, and attention to detail in data handling.
• Communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technical and operational teams.
• Ability to perform physical inventory duties, lift and move IT equipment, and travel between multiple local buildings.
• Experience supporting federal agencies or working within regulated government environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Department of Justice components.
• ITIL Foundation or ITAM-specific certifications (e.g., CHAMP, CITAM).
