IT Manager

Broad, hands-on experience supporting a Microsoft-based internal IT environment of approximately 150–500 users; experience with Microsoft 365, Intune, Entra, and endpoint management is strongly preferred. Provide hands-on technical leadership across Microsoft 365, Intune, Entra, Autopilot, cloud applications, endpoints, networks, infrastructure, and complex Tier 2/Tier 3 issues.

Job Summary/Company: 

A rapidly growing government contractor is seeking a hands-on IT Manager to lead and strengthen its internal IT function. This individual will manage a small technical team, oversee daily IT operations, and remain actively involved in Tier 2/Tier 3 support, Microsoft 365 administration, cybersecurity, compliance, and process improvement. The ideal candidate has broad IT leadership experience within a small-to-midsized organization and is comfortable building the structure, documentation, and accountability needed to support continued growth. Position is onsite 4 days per week in McLean, VA and requires US Citizenship. 

Responsibilities

• Manage daily IT operations and develop a small team responsible for help desk support, systems administration, ticket prioritization, escalations, endpoint management, and user support.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership across Microsoft 365, Intune, Entra, Autopilot, cloud applications, endpoints, networks, infrastructure, and complex Tier 2/Tier 3 issues.
• Establish scalable IT processes, SOPs, runbooks, onboarding and offboarding procedures, ticketing standards, asset controls, and security practices while supporting CMMC Level 2 and NIST 800-171 readiness.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of relevant technical experience, including 3–5 years of IT team leadership or people-management experience.
• Broad, hands-on experience supporting a Microsoft-based internal IT environment of approximately 150–500 users; experience with Microsoft 365, Intune, Entra, and endpoint management is strongly preferred.
• Strong ownership, communication, troubleshooting, and process-improvement skills. Government contracting, GCC/GCC High, CMMC, NIST 800-171, ITIL, ITSM, or cybersecurity experience is highly preferred.

This job is Hybrid Remote.

Pay Range: Salary $120,000.00 to $150,000.00
