General Job Description:
Upper Valley Career Center is seeking a dedicated and passionate Medical Careers Academy Instructor to teach high school students. The instructor will deliver engaging instruction aligned to state and industry standards, giving students a solid foundation of knowledge in the healthcare pathway. The instructor will collaborate with the co-teachers to create lessons, provide hands-on training in clinical settings, and foster a supportive learning environment to ensure students gain the knowledge and skills necessary to gain employment in the medical field and prepare for higher education.
Program Description:
The Medical Careers Academy program provides students with a comprehensive foundation of knowledge and skills for those interested in the diverse and expanding healthcare field. The program is designed to equip students with essential healthcare fundamentals, preparing them for a variety of career pathways after graduation.
Students have the opportunity to earn multiple industry-recognized certifications, including Certified Nurse Aide, Elder Care, Stop the Bleed, First Aid/CPR, and OSHA 10-Hour Healthcare. In addition, students will develop practical medical assisting skills and have the opportunity to earn a Medical Assistant certification as the program continues to expand.

Salary:
Appropriate placement on the Certificated Salary Schedule to be determined by education and experience. Salary will range from $53,348.00 ( Class II, Step 0) to $87,485.00 (Class V, Step 10). Base contract is 187 Days. Minimum workday is 7 hours per day exclusive of a lunch break . One-year contract with opportunity for renewal.

State Teachers Retirement System, Worker's Compensation, paid sick/personal leave, partial tuition reimbursement, and tax-sheltered retirement contributions. Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance offered. Some benefits are a shared cost between the employee and the Board of Education.
Performance Evaluation:
Job performance is evaluated according to policy provisions and contractual agreements adopted by the Upper Valley Career Center.
