What this role is all about
What you’ll be doing
Deliver food and beverage orders to guest rooms promptly, professionally, and according to hotel service standards.
Provide exceptional guest service by greeting guests warmly, explaining menu items, and ensuring order accuracy and presentation quality.
Set up and present in-room dining trays, tables, amenities, and special requests professionally and efficiently.
Accurately take guest orders, process transactions, and support POS and cash handling procedures as needed.
Maintain strong knowledge of restaurant menus, beverages, wine offerings, promotions, and hotel amenities.
Coordinate closely with Culinary, Restaurant, Banquets, and Food & Beverage teams to ensure timely and seamless service.
Monitor guest satisfaction and respond quickly and professionally to guest requests or concerns.
Assist with tray retrieval, hallway clearance, side work, restocking, and maintaining cleanliness across service areas.
Follow food safety procedures, sanitation standards, responsible alcohol service guidelines, and hotel operational policies.
Support VIP arrivals, special events, amenities, and customized guest experiences as needed.
Help create a polished, welcoming, and guest-focused experience aligned with Sonesta’s People People culture.
Any other duties as assigned.
What great looks like
Previous restaurant, in-room dining, hotel, hospitality, banquet, or Food & Beverage experience preferred.
Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills with a polished and professional presence.
Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Knowledge of food & beverage service, dining etiquette, and responsible alcohol service practices preferred.
Experience using POS systems and handling guest transactions accurately preferred.
Strong attention to detail, presentation, cleanliness, and guest experience standards.
Food Handler Certification, TIPS Certification, or alcohol service certification preferred where applicable.
A passion for hospitality, guest engagement, teamwork, and creating memorable in-room dining experiences.
Flexible availability including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight service as needed.
