Description/Job Summary

Baltimore City Community College (BCCC) is recruiting for a savvy, knowledgeable, and experienced HR Analyst with outstanding analytical and communication skills. An HR Analyst is expected to be a conceptual thinker with conflict management skills, problem-solving skills and the ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment. HR Analysts should exhibit strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of employee services.

The Human Resources Analyst will provide direct support to the Assistant VP of Human Resources in the tracking and management of processing requests submitted for the Paid Family Medical Leave (PFML). This involves being responsible for gathering and analyzing documentation, making initial recommendations and determinations, communicating with employees, maintaining detailed case records, assisting with training, assisting with program audits, and serving as a point of contact for questions regarding the PFML program.

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Review, analyze, and process incoming requests;
  • Collect, verify, and organize supporting documentation;
  • Verify that cases meet program eligibility; request additional information from applicants as needed; make and document initial determinations;
  • Field and respond to inquiries employees and supervisors; provide guidance that is consistent with State laws, regulations, and other governing documents;
  • Track and maintain detailed case records, produce accurate determinations within required timelines; assist with conducting periodic program audits; assist in producing regular program reports
  • Assist in the facilitation of periodic training to educate employee and supervisors on the PFML program.

Required Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field.

Experience:

  • Three (3) years of professional experience, which include:
  • One (1) year of experience with MD State government or a government entity.
  • Two (2) years of professional experience in Human Resources in the areas of (recruitment, employee services, benefits, and working with medical leave request and/or case management.
  • Proficient in MS Excel specifically with formulas and functions, data analysis and management tools; problem solving, and data-entry.

Physical Requirements

  • Sitting in a normal seated position for extended periods of time.
  • Occasionally lifting, carrying objects weighing 10lbs. or less.
  • Occasionally pushing and pulling objects weighing 30lbs. or less.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SHRM/PHR Certification or IPMA Certification
  • HRCI Certification
