We are seeking an experienced and motivated HR & People Operations Manager to help lead and strengthen our workforce, culture, and organizational effectiveness. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with people while also driving structure, accountability, continuous improvement, and operational consistency across the organization.

Job Summary The HR & People Operations Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day human resources and people operations functions at Midstate Spring. This position plays a key role in supporting employee relations, workforce development, safety administration, compliance, organizational communication, and operational improvement initiatives throughout the company.
This role goes beyond traditional HR administration by serving as a trusted resource for employees and supervisors while helping drive accountability, consistency, workforce engagement, and organizational change. The HR & People Operations Manager partners with leadership to improve processes, strengthen culture, support employee development, and reinforce company expectations related to safety, performance, attendance, and professionalism.
The successful candidate will be highly organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable interacting with employees at all levels of the organization. This individual will help ensure employees are informed, supported, and positioned for success while helping Midstate Spring continue to evolve and grow. Human Resources Operations & Employee Support - Serve as the primary day-to-day HR resource for employees and supervisors across the organization.
- Manage attendance administration including employee call-outs, missed punches, attendance tracking, and return-to-work follow-up communication.
- Conduct employee follow-up regarding extended absences and coordinate communication after multiple missed workdays.
- Oversee employee onboarding activities including orientation, new hire paperwork, training coordination, locker assignments, uniforms, and employee setup.
- Manage employee lifecycle processes including position changes, compensation change requests, employee separations, and employment verifications.
- Administer employee benefits and support employees with benefit-related questions and requests.
- Respond to employee questions, concerns, and requests in a timely, professional, and confidential manner.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, HR documentation, and personnel files.
- Support employee engagement, communication, recognition, and workplace culture initiatives.
Employee Relations, Organizational Development & Change Leadership - Partner with leadership and supervisors to support employee performance, accountability, communication, and workforce development.
- Help guide the organization through operational and cultural changes that improve consistency, execution, and employee engagement.
- Manage employee relations matters professionally, fairly, and consistently while reinforcing company policies and expectations.
- Support performance review processes and assist supervisors with employee coaching, documentation, and development conversations.
- Help identify opportunities to improve organizational effectiveness, communication, training, and workforce performance.
- Promote a positive workplace culture focused on accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
- Maintain and update job descriptions, HR procedures, and employee handbook policies to align with company needs and operational changes.
Safety, Compliance & Workforce Programs - Support company safety initiatives and help reinforce a strong culture of workplace safety and accountability.
- Maintain OSHA logs and assist with safety-related documentation, reporting, and compliance activities.
- Coordinate hearing tests and support required employee health and safety programs.
- Administer workers' compensation processes including claim coordination, communication, and return-to-work support.
- Manage Disability Benefits Law (DBL) and Paid Family Leave (PFL) administration and documentation.
- Support affirmative action program administration and related compliance requirements.
- Assist with training coordination, tracking, and documentation to support compliance and workforce development initiatives.
- Help ensure compliance with company policies and applicable federal, state, and local employment regulations.
Recruitment, Onboarding & Workforce Development - Lead recruiting and hiring support activities including job postings, interview coordination, candidate communication, and pre-employment processes.
- Support hiring managers in identifying staffing needs and improving hiring processes.
- Lead onboarding and employee integration efforts to ensure new employees are welcomed, informed, and prepared for success.
- Help develop and improve workforce development, employee retention, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Support training and continuous improvement efforts that strengthen workforce capabilities and operational performance.
