HR Manager Position Summary

Position Summary
The HR Manager serves as a strategic, solutions-oriented HR business partner supporting leaders across Goodwill Industries of Northwest North Carolina. This role is the primary resource for performance management, succession planning, individual development plans, employee relations coaching, and leadership development. The position partners closely with operational leadersparticularly the Donated Goods Retail (DGR) organization and Mission Servicesto provide practical, business-focused HR guidance that balances organizational needs, compliance, and employee engagement.
Key Responsibilities
· Serve as the primary HR business partner for assigned client groups, with primary support for DGR and Mission Services.
· Lead and support the organization's performance management processes, including manager coaching, performance reviews, goal setting, and calibration activities.
· Coordinate and facilitate succession planning and Individual Development Plan (IDP) initiatives.
· Coach leaders through employee relations matters, investigations, corrective action, conflict resolution, and performance-related issues.
· Provide practical, compliant solutions that help leaders effectively 'operate in the gray' when addressing complex people challenges.
· Deliver training and education on performance management, leadership practices, and HR policies.
· Partner with the Davidson Group, which specializes in employee relations, and oversee that relationship.
· As the HR delivery model evolves, provide leadership to two HR Partners delivering pooled HR support.
· Ensure compliance with employment laws, company policies, and HR best practices.
· Collaborate with Talent Management and other HR Centers of Excellence to improve organizational effectiveness.
Preferred Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
· 510+ years of progressive HR generalist experience.
· Prior recruiting experience.
· Strong employee relations expertise and working knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
· Experience with HRIS platforms; UKG experience preferred.
· PHR or SPHR certification strongly preferred.
· Excellent coaching, consulting, communication, and relationship-building skills.
· Strategic thinker with a practical, solutions-oriented approach and strong executive presence.
· Demonstrated potential to grow into a Director-level leadership role.
