    Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (40 hours/week)

    Sigma Inc. is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support Human Resources operations for our client, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts / Massachusetts Convention Center Authority. This position is fully onsite at 415 Summer Street, Boston, MA.

    Position Summary:

    The HR Generalist will support daily Human Resources operations by managing a variety of HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, performance management, training coordination, HR compliance, HRIS updates, and personnel record management.

    The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience supporting HR programs, working with employees and managers, maintaining HR documentation, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and organizational policies.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Recruitment & Staffing:

    • Coordinate hiring activities, onboarding, and employee orientation processes.
    • Review applications, screen candidates, schedule interviews, and assist with candidate assessments.
    • Support pre-employment activities and recruitment coordination.

    Employee Relations:

    • Serve as a resource for employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and workplace concerns.
    • Assist with employee engagement initiatives and promote a positive workplace culture.
    • Support conflict resolution and employee relations activities.

    Benefits & Leave Administration:

    • Assist employees with benefits enrollment, changes, and related inquiries.
    • Support annual open enrollment activities.
    • Administer employee leave programs, including FMLA and ADA accommodations.
    • Coordinate with benefits providers and external vendors.

    Performance Management & Training:

    • Support performance review and employee evaluation processes.
    • Assist managers with employee development initiatives and coaching support.
    • Coordinate training programs and maintain training compliance records.

    HR Compliance & Records Management:

    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.
    • Assist with HR policy implementation and communication.
    • Maintain confidential employee records and personnel files.
    • Prepare HR reports and documentation for audits and compliance reviews.

    HRIS Support:

    • Maintain accurate employee data within HRIS systems.
    • Generate workforce reports and employment metrics.
    • Support applicant tracking systems and HR technology processes.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, Organizational Development, or related field preferred.
    • 3–5 years of progressive Human Resources experience.
    • Experience supporting recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and HR compliance.
    • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations including:
      • FLSA
      • FMLA
      • ADA
      • EEO compliance
    • Experience with HRIS systems and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience supporting public sector, government, or municipal organizations.
    • Experience with ADP HRIS/payroll systems.
    • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification.
