Job Title: Human Resource Assistant
Location: Archdale, NC 27263
Pay Rate: $24.00 - $25.00 per hour
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Overview of the Job
The Temporary Human Resources Assistant is primarily responsible for supporting the HR department with a wide range of administrative, compliance, and recruitment-related tasks. This role acts as a key liaison with external partners, coordinates onboarding and pre-employment activities, and serves as an internal resource for employee portal issues, general benefits, and policy inquiries. This is a temporary position with the potential to convert to a permanent, contract-to-hire (Right-to-Hire) role next year.
Job Specifications
Primary Responsibilities
- Serve as an additional point of contact and liaison with the managed staffing vendor to post job requisitions, coordinate interview schedules, formulate employment offers, process new hire paperwork, and manage pre-employment screening.
- Support the employee conversion and onboarding processes, including portal activation and login setups (OKTA), HRIS site tours, collecting copies of employee identification, and executing I-9/E-Verify compliance processes.
- Facilitate New Hire Orientation sessions as needed.
- Maintain consistent and professional communication with candidates throughout each stage of the hiring lifecycle.
- Process incoming daily mail regarding service desk requests, payroll deductions, and reimbursement forms.
- Update company compliance posters and internal communication signage across the facility.
- Manage and update the internal HR database and initiate communication workflows with internal management teams.
- Track and manage candidate feedback through New Hire Survey data and update the employee attendance policy spreadsheets.
- Own physical and digital employee file creation and ongoing file maintenance.
- Assist active employees with troubleshooting and resetting passwords within the employee portal (OKTA).
- Help plan, coordinate, and execute internal employee engagement activities.
- Answer general, everyday questions regarding company benefits, guidelines, and corporate policies.
- Coordinate other administrative HR tasks and special projects as assigned by leadership.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational capability with the ability to manage multiple administrative tasks.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Demonstrated ability to learn new software platforms and computer-based systems quickly.
- Professional discretion and the ability to handle confidential employee and candidate information.
Education and Experience
- Associate's degree, some college coursework completed, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
- 1–3 years of experience working in Human Resources, Customer Service, or high-volume administrative data entry.
