Description

Global Payroll Specialist
We are currently seeking candidates for a Global Payroll Specialist opportunity at a highly successful investment management firm located in Boston, MA. The Global Payroll Specialist will be responsible for managing semi-monthly, multi-state payroll for ~2,000 employees (hourly and salaried) using Workday. The ideal candidate will have 3-5+ years of hands-on payroll experience, including global payroll experience.

This is a 4-month contract opportunity, paying between $40-$50/hour (depending on experience). This role supports a hybrid work model, onsite 4 days and remote 1 day. 

Responsibilities:
  • Perform semi-monthly, multi-state payroll for ~2,000 employees (hourly and salaried) using Workday
  • Compute retroactive or overpayments for overtime, salary, or changes in benefits as necessary
  • Respond to employee and vendor inquiries regarding payroll
  • Collaborate with internal Treasury, Accounting, Human Resources, and additional teams as necessary
  • Ensure payroll funding is executed to payroll vendors and employees in a timely manner
  • Conduct account reconciliations, prepare W-2s, and deliver year-end reporting
  • Assist with payroll journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Update and maintain HR systems for taxes, earnings, deductions, general ledger mapping
  • Propose and evaluate process improvements to increase efficiency and precision
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations
  • Provide additional support as needed
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 3-5+ years of hands-on payroll experience, including global payroll experience
  • Workday payroll experience required
  • Experience with Payroll-related systems (ADP, international payroll vendors, Microsoft Office suite)
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Highly motivated and proactive with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working in an environment that has seasonal peaks and calendar quarter-end and year-end deliverables
