    Description

    Global Legal Strategy & Team Management

    • Formulate and execute the group''s global legal strategy, and establish a legal risk management system.
    • Coordinate external counsel, legal advisors, and professional service providers across key markets including China, North America, Europe, and the UK.
    • Establish mechanisms for legal risk identification, assessment, early warning, and response, and provide professional advice to management.
    • Serve as a key strategic partner to business leadership, driving business execution and commercial objectives while maintaining risk control. Commercial Contracts & Business Support
    • Draft, review, and negotiate major commercial contracts, including supplier, logistics, warehousing, and store lease agreements.
    • Review platform service agreements, payment service agreements, advertising and media buying agreements, technology service agreements, and data processing agreements.
    • Establish group-level contract templates, approval workflows, authority matrices, and contract management mechanisms.
    • Provide legal support for major investments, M&A, joint ventures, strategic partnerships, and business restructurings. Cross-border E-commerce, Platform & Consumer Protection Compliance
    • Lead legal compliance for cross-border e-commerce and retail operations, covering consumer rights, returns and refunds, promotions, pricing display, product claims, and after-sales service.
    • Advise on advertising, marketing materials, product descriptions, discount campaigns, and brand communications to mitigate risks of false advertising, misleading claims, and unfair competition. Data Privacy & Information Security
    • Build and enhance the group''s global data privacy and data compliance framework.
    • Guide the business in complying with applicable data protection laws and regulations, including GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and China''s Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL).
    • Review privacy policies, Cookie policies, terms of service, data processing agreements, and third-party vendor arrangements.
    • Participate in incident response and remediation for data breaches, cybersecurity events, and regulatory investigations. Intellectual Property & Brand Protection
    • Develop global protection strategies for trademarks, copyrights, patents, domain names, and trade secrets.
    • Oversee compliance in the use of brands, trademarks, product designs, images, videos, copy, and digital content.
    • Handle counterfeiting, infringement, image theft, plagiarism, domain name squatting, and platform IP complaints.
    • Support brand licensing, co-branding collaborations, designer partnerships, and IP licensing transactions.
    • Establish a global IP asset register and rights enforcement mechanism.
    • Bachelor''s degree or above in law; Qualified to practice law in China or another major jurisdiction; candidates qualified to practice in multiple jurisdictions are preferred
    • 10+ years of legal experience, including at least 5 years in legal management within cross-border e-commerce, consumer goods, retail, internet platforms, or multinational corporations.
    • Prior experience as a global or regional head of legal, Legal Director, or General Counsel / Chief Legal Officer preferred.
    • Deep knowledge of commercial law and compliance requirements in at least two of the following markets: China, North America, Europe, and the UK.
    • Familiarity with e-commerce platform rules, consumer protection, advertising and marketing, data privacy, intellectual property, product compliance, and supply chain legal matters.
    • Strong capabilities in contract drafting, negotiation, risk assessment, dispute resolution, and project management.
    • Excellent business acumen, with the ability to understand business objectives and deliver actionable solutions.
    • Professional working proficiency in both Chinese and English, with excellent English legal writing, negotiation, and communication skills.
    • Strong leadership, cross-cultural communication, and team-building capabilities.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional, and international work environment.
