    Position Summary: Our mission is to transform the healthcare experience through culinary excellence and genuine hospitality, proving that great food and compassionate service are essential partners to our community.   Under general supervision, this position maintains sanitation in the food court and kitchen. Works independently in waste, linen and compost removal. Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of equipment including but not limited to dish machine, pot wash machine, service areas and work stations in an orderly condition.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Under direct supervision, cleans and sanitizes counters, tray lines, food wells, appliances and equipment in Main Kitchen work space and according to specific schedule
    • Reads and records temperature of appropriate food and equipment daily
    • Washes dishes, silverware, trays and serving equipment using dish machine and three bay sink
    • Under supervision, monitors sanitation and food handling, storage and temperature to ensure compliance with established codes and standards
    • Assists in the preparation of service areas at the start and end of each meal period following established schedules
    • Turns on equipment and measures, tests and distributes sanitation solutions
    • Arranges, straightens and cleans dining tables, chairs and counters
    • Under direct supervision, maintains and sanitizes food service equipment, work stations and service areas
    • Monitors and reports equipment in need of repair of replacement. Maintains related logs and records
    Education & Experience:
    • High School Diploma / GED is preferred
    • The skills to read and understand English, add and subtract numbers, and make comparisons between numbers and letters
    • Customer service skills with ability to exchange information on factual matters, schedule appointments, greet visitors, explain hospital policies, and/or relay messages to appropriate personnel. This type of interaction requires courtesy and tact when dealing with patients, visitors and/or hospital employees
    Physical Requirements:
    • Lifting and carrying patients/children/objects weighing up to 10lbs and occasionally 11-20lbs 
    • Regularly stooping, bending, sitting and standing
    • Reaching and grasping objects below, above and at shoulder level. Lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling objects weighing up to 20 pounds
    • Frequently inputting/retrieving words or data into or from an automated/computer system
