Position Summary:
Client is looking for a paralegal/legal secretary with
3-5 yrs experience who is familiar with the Florida court systems and
working with 3-4 attorneys. Must have experience filing documents with the court, contacting judge assistance, manage attorney case files, attorney calendars and knowledge of general court systems. Qualified candidates will be performing basic word processing, using templates to draft correspondence and creating documents.
Contractor Duties- The legal assistant acts as the legal secretary for assigned attorneys
- Formatting, finalizing, typing, and filing documents.
- Preparing letters and legal documents from drafts.
- Filing pleadings and motions with appropriate tribunals.
- Serving or arranging service of legal documents, and maintaining attorney case files.
- Prepares subpoenas, discovery requests, schedules hearings, trials, depositions, and arranges facilities as directed.
- Retaining and scheduling court reporters and obtaining transcripts.
- Performing general secretarial duties such as phone calls and travel arrangements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
- Closing case files, and supporting office management as needed.
