Our client is seeking an experienced Financial Reporting Consultant to provide hands-on support with consolidations, monthly financial reporting, and complex accounting matters. This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys turning detailed accounting information into accurate financial reports, resolving reporting issues, and improving the reporting process within a multi-entity organization. This is a contract opportunity, with potential for conversion to a permanent role based on performance and the quality of work delivered during the assignment. This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports.
Primary Responsibilities
- Prepare and review consolidated monthly financial reports and supporting schedules.
- Support the consolidation process, including intercompany eliminations and reconciliation of consolidated balances.
- Review financial information for accuracy and completeness, investigate discrepancies, and coordinate necessary adjustments with the accounting team.
- Assist with complex accounting and related reporting, including debt, equity investments, noncontrolling interests, and purchase accounting, as needed.
- Support the year-end audit by preparing reporting schedules, responding to requests, and coordinating outstanding deliverables.
- Improve financial reporting procedures, supporting documentation, and consistency across entities.
- Assist with reporting-related projects and system enhancements.
Requirements- Strong corporate financial reporting and consolidation experience within a multi-entity organization.
- Financial Reporting Manager, Accounting Manager with substantial reporting responsibilities, or comparable consulting experience.
- Strong understanding of intercompany eliminations and consolidated financial statements.
- Experience preparing and reviewing financial reporting schedules and investigating discrepancies.
- Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, SUMIFS, and complex formulas.
- Experience supporting external audits.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
- Ability to collaborate with accounting leadership and manage competing deadlines.
- Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains experience preferred.
- Experience with debt, equity investments, noncontrolling interests, or purchase accounting is a plus.
- Availability to work four days in the Dallas office and one day remotely each week.
