A prestigious and highly successful Houston law firm is seeking two Legal File Clerks / Runners to join its team! This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous law firm, filing, or administrative experience who is looking to build their career within a fast-paced, professional legal environment. The ideal candidates are organized, dependable, professional, and willing to jump in wherever needed. You'll play an important role in keeping the office running smoothly by assisting with file management, document organization, deliveries, and other administrative needs. This position will begin as a 90-day contract assignment with the opportunity to transition into full-time employment based on performance.
Position: Legal File Clerk / Runner
Location: Houston, TX | 100% In-Office
Salary: up to $50K
Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire
 

Key Responsibilities

• Organize, maintain, retrieve, and properly file legal documents and case files
• Assist with opening, closing, and maintaining physical and/or electronic files
• Ensure documents and files are accurately labeled and stored
• Retrieve files and documents for attorneys and staff as requested
• Assist with copying, scanning, printing, and general document preparation
• Handle internal and external deliveries, pickups, and runner responsibilities
• Transport documents or materials to courts, clients, vendors, or other locations as needed
• Assist with moving file boxes and other office materials
• Provide general administrative and office support to attorneys and staff
• Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive client and legal information
• Help ensure filing areas and records remain organized and easily accessible

Qualifications

• Previous filing, records, clerical, or administrative experience within a law firm preferred
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Dependable with a strong work ethic and willingness to assist wherever needed
• Ability to manage multiple requests in a fast-paced professional environment
• Professional demeanor and communication skills
• Must be able to lift at least 30 pounds
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Comfortable performing runner duties throughout the Houston area as needed
