Overview:
Field Service Technician – Laser Machinery
Location: Cleveland, OH
Pay: $26–$30/hr + Overtime + Full Benefits
We are a Veteran-focused company hiring Field Service Technicians to support customers who use advanced laser machining equipment. We strongly encourage veterans and transitioning military service members to apply. Full training on laser machinery is provided, and technicians are home on weekends.
What You’ll Do
Travel to customer sites to diagnose and repair laser machining equipment
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control‑system issues
Perform repairs, rebuilds, adjustments, and system testing
Support customers by phone when remote troubleshooting is possible
Read and interpret schematics, diagrams, and technical documentation
Document service work, findings, and resolutions
Provide professional, clear communication with customers
What You Bring
Proven technical aptitude, ideally 4+ years of hands-on experience in mechanical or electrical troubleshooting (Military experience/training is highly valued and transferable).
Proficiency using hand tools and precision measurement equipment (e.g., voltmeters, multimeters, gages).
Excellent communication skills, demonstrated by the ability to write technical reports and provide professional customer support.
Ability to maintain a rigorous travel schedule (typically Monday–Friday).
Preferred (Not Required):
Military technical training/certifications or an Associate/Technical degree.
Experience using voltmeters, oscilloscopes, or similar tools
Background repairing mechanical components (ball screws, bearings, gearing, way systems)
Experience with precision measurement tools (indicators, micrometers, gage blocks, optical comparator; laser interferometer or ball bar is a plus)
Physical Requirements
Frequent bending, standing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting
Regular use of hands, tools, and computer equipment
Ability to lift 20–50 lbs as needed
Good visual and color acuity
