Field Sales Manager - Residential Roofing & Exteriors
Indianapolis, Indiana | Full-Time | Base to $100,000 + 1% of team production, uncapped | Company truck
We have more leads than we can sell. That is the problem we are hiring you to fix.
A 30-year residential roofing and exteriors company in Indianapolis. We are debt-free, we cash flow, and we are not scrambling.
A few years ago we made a hard call. We cut our sales team roughly in half, removed the people who did not fit, rebuilt our SOPs, replaced our software, and redesigned how every job moves through the company. We built the infrastructure for a fifty million dollar business.
Today we are doing around fourteen million with a sales team in the low teens, and we are turning away growth because we do not have the management capacity to train and support more representatives. We want twenty million next year. We need someone to lead the team that gets us there.
What you will actually do
• Lead, coach, and grow our residential sales team, from its current size to twenty representatives and beyond.
• Be in the field. Ride with a rep most days, help present, handle objections, and close when the deal needs it.
• Run the morning meeting, set the daily priorities, and close the day with an accountability recap.
• Recruit, hire, onboard, and develop new sales representatives. You own who joins your team.
• Hold the CRM and documentation standard in AccuLynx. We built the system properly. We need someone who will make people use it.
• Train the team on insurance restoration, retail, financing, siding, and the full sales process.
• Protect the handoff to production so what gets sold is what gets built.
What this job is not
This is not a desk job, and it is not a producing seat with a title attached. You are not carrying a personal quota that competes with your team's. You do not own marketing. You do not own production. Your entire job is the sales organization, and you are measured on what the team produces. If a referral comes your way, take it. The comp works the same either way.
What you need to have done
• Led a residential roofing sales team. This one is not negotiable. The learning curve here is too steep to teach the trade and the leadership at the same time.
• Operated at real scale, ideally at a company doing twenty to twenty-five million or more. Running part of a bigger organization counts.
• Actually moved a team's numbers, and be able to show us how.
• Recruited and developed roofing sales reps, not just inherited them.
• Lived in a CRM and held other people to it.
• Command of insurance restoration alongside retail, financed, and cash-pay work.
• A driving record clean enough to put you in a company truck. Military background is a plus. Multifamily and large residential experience is a plus.
What we pay
• Base salary up to $100,000.
• 1 percent of total sales team production. Uncapped. You earn it whether or not we hit the annual target.
• An additional bonus when the team hits twenty million.
• What that means in practice: roughly $240,000 at where the team sits today, and around $300,000 plus the bonus at twenty million.
• Company truck.
• W2 employment. Health insurance and a retirement plan are being stood up now, targeted within about six months.
Where this goes
We promote from within. When the team scales past twenty and we add a second manager underneath you, the Director of Sales seat is yours to take.
