One of the region’s largest orthopedic and sports medicine providers, Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute’s world-class team of orthopedic surgeons and sports medicine physicians specialize in conditions and injuries of the spine, hand, upper extremities, foot, ankle and lower extremities, as well as joint replacement, concussions, interventional pain management, bone health and orthopedic trauma. The institute’s Downtown Complex brings the whole spectrum of orthopedic and spine care under one roof and includes an orthopedic specialty hospital featuring 75 private inpatient rooms, 10 advanced OR suites, and a research and innovation center with a bio skills lab and 3D printer. Institute physicians also lead a robust clinical research and education program. An adjacent medical pavilion houses a 63-exam-room outpatient clinic, imaging suite, physical therapy spaces and ambulatory surgery center. Position Overview

The Events Coordinator coordinates and implements specific special event plans and projects.

 

Responsibilities:
  • Gathers information, materials and resources needed to implement key signature events, other events, and education activities.
  • Develops and monitors action plans and timelines for implementation, volunteer recruitment and management, sponsor solicitation, event reporting, media relations, and using this information to make discretionary decisions about event planning.
  • Implements specific event strategies directed toward targeted donors, potential donors, and other key constituencies.
  • Collaborates with other events team members and other adjacent team members to coordinate components of large and small events.
  • Demonstrates strong project management skills while timely managing multiple priorities.
  • Coordinates other projects including mailings, distribution, scheduling, filing, copying, and ordering supplies and phone calls as needed.
  • Requires flexibility to provide special event direction on weekends and holidays.
  • Coordinates and organizes assigned responsibilities to confidential data.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
Qualifications:

Education/Training

  • Associate’s degree in a marketing, management, communications, data analysis or related field.
    • Two (2) years of directly related work experience may substitute for the Associate degree (in addition to the requirements listed in the Experience section).

 

Experience

  • Two (2) years of organizational management experience required, including involvement in special events. Familiarity with Word, Excel, PowerPoint applications.
    • A Bachelor degree in a related field may substitute for up to two (2) years of the required experience.
