Job Description

Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team including mechanical, electrical, controls, and CAD professionals. Maintain an active technical role by contributing directly to engineering design, project reviews, troubleshooting, and customer support activities. Manage engineering workloads, allocate resources, and oversee project schedules to ensure successful delivery. Review designs, drawings, and documentation to ensure quality, manufacturability, safety, and compliance requirements are achieved. Drive engineering best practices, document control procedures, and technical standards across the department. Partner with project management, manufacturing, fabrication, and field service teams throughout project lifecycles. Support proposal development, estimating activities, technical evaluations, and project risk assessments. Act as a key technical contact for customers during design reviews, installations, and commissioning activities. Identify and resolve technical, integration, and scheduling challenges before they impact project delivery. Lead recruiting, onboarding, coaching, and performance management initiatives within the engineering team. Champion continuous improvement programs focused on engineering processes, system reliability, and operational efficiency. Support compliance engineering activities and promote a strong safety-focused design culture.

The Successful Applicant

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline preferred. Extensive experience within industrial automation, special-purpose machinery, or manufacturing engineering environments. Previous experience leading teams, projects, or engineering functions. Ability to balance technical execution with managerial responsibilities. Strong understanding of mechanical systems, controls integration, and automated equipment. Experience conducting engineering risk assessments and supporting compliance-related activities. Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and technical judgment capabilities. Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, manufacturing, and customer-facing teams. Organized, process-driven approach with strong project prioritization skills. Passion for coaching, mentoring, and developing engineering talent.
