Driver Recruiter

The Driver Recruiter is responsible for making sure that Bison USA is provided with sufficient quantity and quality of Drivers and Owner Operators in an efficient and effective manner. This will be accomplished by selling the driver program to potential hires, pre-screening, and assisting in driver qualification as well as gathering information to help develop driver programs, recruitment strategies, and retention strategies.
Hours: 8:00-5:00 pm Monday through Friday
Location: Des Moines, IA or Amherst, WI (open to 100% remote outside of these two locations depending on experience)
Recruiting:
Work to ensure that the company is provided with adequate quality and quantity of Drivers and Owner Operators
Interviewing potential company drivers and/or owner operators
Reviewing applications and ensuring all required documents are completed
Completing reference checks, and either recommending or declining applicants
Pre-Screening all phone inquiries by driver applicants
Reviewing with and selling Company Driver or Owner Operator package to potential applicants
Any other recruiting duties as they arise in compliance with your employment classification
Market Research:
Actively gathering strategic information on our competitors regarding driver pay rates, leases, equipment types, and trip lengths to ensure we remain competitive in the changing marketplace
Communicating regularly with colleagues and drivers
Forming and maintaining files on competition regarding operational data
Informing all personnel about driver management standards
Understanding the Driver Retention Program with reference to the Company and industry competitors
Safety & Compliance:
Responsible for ensuring the overall standards of our safety and compliance programs are met as they apply to all potential and new hires
Completion of driver qualification process prior to hiring
Setting up controlled substance testing
Provide new driver orientation
Prepare new driver file and enter in the computer system
Other:
Directing drivers and owner operators to the appropriate department personnel when issues arise and assisting in resolution of driver related issues
Play an active role in the on-going development of the driver program, including driver retention
