SummaryThe Director of Sales, Events & Marketing has direct oversight of the Sales and Event operations of the hotel. Responsibilities include the Sales, Marketing and Events Budget/P&L, revenue forecasting, advertising, marketing, developing and writing business plans, and ownership meetings. Additionally, this role leads the development and implementation of both short‑term and long‑term strategies in all sales, catering and marketing channels to achieve the hotel's revenue goals and increase market share performance.The Director of Sales, Events & Marketing leads sales and event managers, trainees, interns, and administrative staff. They manage recruitment and hiring of sales and event services staff, and train, manage and coach managers in their selling and servicing process in order to meet company goals and maximize hotel revenues. The Director must be able to train and monitor the group and transient contractual agreement process, quote rates, send referrals, set traces, and manage retention, reactivation, and acquisition accounts. The Director reports directly to the General Manager with oversight from the Regional Vice President of Sales and Events.DutiesResponsible for short and long term planning and the management of Event Sales and Event PlanningDevelop and recommend the budget, marketing plans and objectives and manage within those approved plansMaintain or exceed budgeted sales and profits in all event areasDevelop and implement effective marketing plans for generating catering revenuesExperience evaluating each piece of event business to ensure it can be properly servicedMonitor sales performance of Event Sales ManagersPut together creative and innovative menus based on kitchen skillsWork closely with the Chef on pricing specialty menusTrain, supervise and work with event staff, in order to solicit and book banquet and event functions, as well as the planning, merchandising and execution of the functionsWork closely with the Banquet Manager and their team to create and ensure quality levels are being met on a daily basis as well as enhancing overall banquet set‑upsLead the event team to build long‑term, value‑based customer relationships that enable achievement of hotel Event sales objectivesAdminister all phases of the event department, including but not limited to sales, planning, marketing, servicing and administrative proceduresCoach and counsel employees to reflect Hyatt service standards and proceduresQualificationsRelevant Sales and Event Services experienceDemonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgroundsProfessional presentations skillsPrior hotel experience required, preferably in a Director roleMust be a caring leader that builds trust and engagement by cultivating genuine relationshipsInnovative thinker who will challenge business processes and concepts to drive resultsMust be creative and strategic in developing marketing/advertising campaigns and managing various social media platformsClear, concise written and verbal communication skillsExcellent organizational and time management skillsMust be proficient with computers as well as Microsoft Word, Excel and the internetComfortable with sales and revenue systems/programsFlexible to work some nights and weekends when necessary based on business and staffing needs#J-18808-Ljbffr
