Job Summary
The Program Manager IV - Account & Client Management is accountable for the overall success, health, and strategic growth of assigned hyperscale data center accounts. This position serves as the senior escalation point and governance leader for AFL Global's largest and most complex client programs, ensuring alignment with AFL Global's standards for safety, quality, financial performance, and operational excellence.
This role balances client leadership, financial ownership, and cross‑functional execution, while mentoring program and project management staff.
Primary Responsibilities
Enterprise Client & Account Ownership
- Own executive‑level relationships with hyperscale data center clients.
- Act as AFL Global's senior representative for assigned accounts.
- Lead governance structures including executive reviews, QBRs, and strategic planning sessions.
- Drive long‑term account strategy, retention, and growth opportunities.
- Serve as escalation authority for high‑risk or high‑impact client issues.
Program & Portfolio Leadership
- Provide oversight for multiple concurrent programs across locations, phases, or service lines.
- Ensure programs meet or exceed contractual, schedule, budget, and quality commitments.
- Establish and enforce standardized program management practices aligned with AFL Global policies.
- Drive proactive risk identification, mitigation planning, and resolution.
Financial & Commercial Accountability
- Own full program P&L accountability for assigned accounts.
- Develop, manage, and forecast budgets, staffing plans, and cost controls.
- Partner with Finance, Sales, and Legal on contract terms, change management, and scope alignment.
- Ensure accurate financial reporting, margin protection, and revenue recognition.
Operational Excellence & Compliance
- Champion AFL Global's Safety First culture across all assigned programs.
- Ensure compliance with AFL Global standards, client requirements, and industry regulations.
- Monitor KPIs related to safety, productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives and lessons‑learned integration.
Leadership & Talent Development
- Provide leadership and mentorship to Program Managers, Project Managers, and support teams.
- Influence without direct authority across matrixed operational, engineering, and construction teams.
- Assist with workforce planning, performance development, and succession planning.
- Serve as a role model for AFL Global values, professionalism, and accountability.
Decision‑Making Authority
- Strategic decisions impacting program execution, resources, and financial outcomes.
- Authority to resolve escalations and negotiate client‑facing resolutions within established limits.
- Influence staffing, vendor performance management, and operational priorities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 10-15+ years of experience in program or project management within data centers, construction, infrastructure, or mission‑critical environments.
- Demonstrated experience supporting hyperscale data center clients or enterprise‑scale programs.
- Proven success managing multi‑million‑dollar portfolios with complex stakeholder environments.
- Strong executive‑level communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Advanced financial and commercial management capability.
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP, PgMP, or equivalent professional certification.
- Experience with major hyperscale customers (cloud service providers or large data center operators).
- Experience in a matrixed, fast‑growth, operational organization.
- Advanced knowledge of risk management, contract governance, and program controls.
