    Paladin Consulting is currently hiring a Credit & Refund Specialist to join our team working onsite at our client's office located in Fort Worth, TX.

    Job Title: Credit & Refund Specialist
    Work Location: Fort Worth, TX
    Duration: 6 month contract with option to extend 
    Education/Experience Required: Three (3) years of progressive experience working third party insurance, hospital-based claims follow-up, cash posting and/or general ledger accounting in a healthcare setting; Basic knowledge of Epic Systems and/or OnBase.

    Role Description & Responsibilities: 

    • Manage the credit balance process, ensuring accurate and timely resolution of credit balances and refunds in compliance with policies and regulatory guidelines.
    • Collaborate with the revenue cycle team, billing department, payers, and patients to investigate and resolve credit balances efficiently.
    • Work as part of a Single Billing Office (SBO) that supports the entire Health Care System, integrating customer service and self-pay collection activities across Medical Center and Physician Network.
    • Enhance the patient collection process and patient experience by providing a single point of contact and a unified billing statement.

    Skills & Qualifications: 

    • Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate's Degree is preferred.
    • Strong background in customer service and knowledge of insurance policies.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and human relations skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel, and internet/email management tools.
    • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
    • Understanding of medical terminology, hospital-based billing practices, and billing reimbursement.
    • Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance billing regulations.
    • Ability to interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOB) and resolve insurance debit/credit balance issues.
    • Capability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
    • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and workloads, while ensuring accuracy in processes.
    • Proactive approach to improving processes and outcomes.
