    Job Description

    Overview

    Details: This position will work full-time, rotating shifts. The hours are 5:30AM until 2:00PM, 6:00AM until 2:30PM, 10:30AM until 7:00PM, and 11:30AM until 8:00PM. Team member will be required to work all of these shifts. Team member will be required to work rotating weekends and holidays. This position is eligible for shift pay differentials.

    Location: IU Health University Hospital

    Position Summary:

    Performs supervised tasks related to the preparation of food. Meal preparations include regular and therapeutic diets. Utilizes foundational skills of basic cooking techniques, operates kitchen equipment and maintains a clean and organized workspace.

    • High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience is preferred.
    • No experience is required. Prior food service experience is preferred.
    • Requires the ability to operate kitchen equipment.
    • Must be able to wear protective equipment/clothing required by the environment or government regulations such as gowns, gloves, goggles, rubber-soled closed-toe footwear, etc.
    • Requires adherence to local health regulations and safety requirements to produce safe food for consumption.
    • Requires the ability to climb ladders.
    • Physical requirements to include: reaching, standing for long periods of time, squatting, bending, carrying and/or lifting supplies and equipment weighing 35 lbs. or more, up to 80% of the time.
