Salary: $120,000–$140,000

Location: Abington, MA (100% onsite)

Controller Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and general ledger reporting
• Maintain accurate WIP schedules, job-cost reporting, and GAAP revenue recognition
• Oversee day-to-day accounting including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and payroll
• Manage cash flow, forecasting, and budgeting processes
• Oversee weekly certified payroll for union employees and ensure compliance with union benefits, dues, fringe contributions, and prevailing wage requirements
• Maintain job cost reporting and monitor project profitability
• Partner with Project Managers on change orders, billings, retainage, budgets, forecasts, and cost-to-complete analysis
• Coordinate annual audits, bonding requirements, banking relationships, and insurance audits
• Implement and maintain strong internal controls and improve accounting processes
• Manage and mentor accounting staff

Controller Qualifications:
• 5–7+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Contracting industry experience required
• Strong understanding of union and certified payroll requirements
• Experience with job costing, WIP reporting, and construction accounting
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Experience with construction accounting systems such as Spectrum, Vista, Sage 300, or similar
• Strong Excel and financial analysis skills
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Ability to work 100% onsite in Abington, MA
