COMMUNICATION SPECIALIST-ANIMAL CONTROL-PT-TEMP

ApplyGreenville County Animal Care & Control is looking for a reliable and compassionate individual to provide part-time temporary support to our Communications Specialist Team.

This is a unique opportunity to step into a meaningful role that helps ensure the safety and well-being of pets and people across our community-while gaining firsthand experience in animal services and public safety communications.

In this role youll assist with answering phones logging reports and providing accurate courteous information to residents who reach out with animal-related concerns. From lost pets to ordinance questions to emergency support your work will help maintain smooth operations and allow for a seamless transition as we onboard and train new team members.

Youll be part of a fast-paced service-focused environment where every call and message matters. The ability to remain calm empathetic and clear when helping people through emotional or urgent situations is essential.

Youll work closely with our full-time Communication Specialist to learn dispatch procedures respond to inquiries and connect citizens with the right resources-ensuring continuity of service and strong community support.

To thrive in this role youll need excellent multitasking skills strong verbal communication and basic proficiency with tools like Microsoft Excel multi-line phone systems and dispatch-related software. Familiarity with GIS AS400CAD systems or 10-codes is a plus and Spanish fluency is highly preferred.

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. While previous experience in dispatch customer service or animal-related fields is helpful were most interested in candidates who are dependable eager to learn and passionate about serving the community.
