Commercial Attorney (In-House Risk Team) – New York

Our client, a leading global AmLaw 100 law firm, is seeking an experienced Commercial Attorney to join its in-house global Risk team in New York. In this role, you will work across a spectrum of legal, ethical, business, and strategic issues, drafting and negotiating complex client-facing contracts and commercial agreements, advising the firm's partners on client contractual requirements and business-related requests, and collaborating with cross-functional teams including Finance, Business Development, Information Security, and Inclusion & Culture.

The estimated salary range for this position is $240,000 – $260,000 (annually) and may vary depending on experience and other factors.

Qualifications

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • J.D. and at least 4 years of total experience at a top-tier law firm, either as a practicing attorney or in an in-house law firm role
  • Experience drafting and negotiating contracts required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent client-facing and interpersonal skills
  • Strict attention to detail with strong project management skills and ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Sound judgment and ability to make risk-based assessments in the face of ambiguity
  • J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school with strong academic credentials
