Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

A growing organization in the energy insurance sector is seeking a strategic, hands‑on Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead all financial operations and partner directly with executive leadership. What Youll Lead

  • Own all financial planning, analysis, reporting, and forecasting
  • Develop and implement financial controls, accounting standards, and compliance practices
  • Direct monthly/quarterly reporting, annual statements, and financial audits
  • Partner with leadership to optimize performance, reduce costs, and support business growth
  • Oversee expense management, GL operations, and financial systems
  • Lead process improvement and automation initiatives
  • Manage a team including Controller-level and Accounting functions
  • Serve as a key contributor to strategic planning and operational decision‑making

Ideal Background

  • 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience
  • Property & Casualty insurance industry experience required (Statutory + GAAP reporting)
  • Experience in energy, oil & gas, or complex multi‑state environments preferred
  • Strong background in financial reporting, planning, and expense management
  • Systems experience with PeopleSoft, Oracle, Excel; familiarity with billing workflows
  • Proven leadership capabilities with a track record of developing and engaging teams
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, communicate clearly, and influence at all levels
  • Bachelors in Accounting or Finance required; CPA and/or MBA strongly preferred
