Ch74 Cosmetology Assistant

Waltham High School is looking for an assistant to support the cosmetology department. The assistant will work with both students and the general public in the cosmetology shop.

Hours:

10-12 hours a week

Hourly rate: $21

Duties:

• Deliver instruction to two different levels (Tech 1 and Tech 2)

• Supervise hands-on services, including chemical applications

• Ensure safety, sanitation, and infection control compliance

• Oversee client interactions in a live salon environment

Requirements:

• High school diploma or the equivalent
• Must demonstrate the ability to work with students, staff, administrators, parents, and the public in creating an atmosphere where individuals feel welcome and respected
• Must be able to work as part of a team and independently
• Must have excellent oral and written communications skills
• Experience with computers and software

REPORTS TO: Director of Career and Technical Education

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This position may require long periods of standing on concrete floors, bending over customers, or working in confined spaces with exposure to dust and chemicals.
