We were bootstrapped to $10M+ ARR and 4,000+ merchant customers before being acquired by Dotdigital, a global marketing automation leader. We’re now scaling as part of a bigger platform, with the speed and hustle of a startup team.

    About the Role

    Location: New York, NY (In-office)
    Compensation: $100,000 OTE ($60,000 base + $40,000 commission target)
    Commission: Uncapped
    Experience: 0-2 years

    We're looking for a Business Development Representative who wants to be on the phone every day, not hiding behind email templates.

    You'll be the first voice a prospective merchant hears from Alia. Your role is to identify opportunities, create demand, and hand off qualified conversations to our Account Executives.

    This is an excellent entry point for someone who wants to build a successful career in sales and is ready to put in the work to make it happen.

    What You'll Do

    • Make outbound calls and run outreach sequences to Shopify merchants and ecommerce brands daily.

    • Qualify inbound leads quickly and book meetings for our Account Executive team.

    • Research target accounts and personalise outreach to improve engagement.

    • Partner with Marketing and Sales to test messaging and improve conversion rates.

    • Maintain clean and accurate CRM data to support reliable pipeline reporting.

    • Consistently achieve and exceed monthly and quarterly targets.

    • Travel to meet clients and prospects at dinners, industry conferences, and events to help build pipeline opportunities.

    About You

    • 0-2 years' experience in sales, customer-facing roles, or a related field.

    • Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

    • Strong desire to build a career in sales.

    • Comfortable making a high volume of outbound calls.

    • Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to think on your feet.

    • Coachable, competitive, and resilient when faced with rejection.

    • Interest in ecommerce, Shopify, or SaaS is advantageous.

    • Based in New York City or willing to relocate.

    Compensation & Growth

    • $100,000 on-target earnings (OTE), comprising:

      • $60,000 base salary

      • $40,000 commission at plan

    • Uncapped commission structure with no earnings ceiling for high performers.

    • Clear progression path to an Account Executive role.
