Winthrop Position Title Athletics Hospitality & Events Student Assistant FWS Job Purpose
The Athletics Hospitality & Event Operations Assistant supports the successful execution of Winthrop Athletics game-day hospitality and premium fan experiences. This position assists with the setup, operation, and breakdown of hospitality spaces while providing exceptional customer service to Eagle Club members, donors, sponsors, and guests.
This position is event-based and is scheduled only on select athletic event days, including all home men's basketball game days, with additional opportunities during select volleyball matches and other special events as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with pre-game setup of hospitality areas, including tables, chairs, signage, food service stations, and supplies.
- Work alongside Chartwells and Athletics staff to ensure food and beverage service runs smoothly and efficiently.
- Help maintain hospitality spaces throughout events by replenishing food and beverages, organizing supplies, and keeping the area clean and presentable.
- Provide outstanding customer service to Eagle Club members, donors, sponsors, and premium seating guests.
- Assist with post-game breakdown, cleanup, and resetting of hospitality spaces.
- Support venue conversions between events, including setup and breakdown when volleyball and men's basketball schedules overlap.
- Assist with general game-day operations and other event-related duties assigned by Athletics staff to ensure a first-class fan and donor experience.
- Perform light lifting and movement of tables, chairs, and event equipment as needed
Qualifications
- Ability to work evenings and weekends on scheduled event days.
- Ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds and remain on your feet for extended periods.
