Amazon"s Worldwide Grocery Stores (WWGS) Legal team is looking for a talented and motivated Associate Corporate Counsel to join our team. This role will support WWGS"s diverse portfolio of businesses including Whole Foods Market and other grocery initiatives by providing practical, business-oriented legal counsel on a broad range of transactional and commercial matters. Amazon is passionate about solving a fundamental customer need, groceries, making shopping more convenient and providing customers with many choices, whether online or in-person.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and can independently manage multiple work streams while delivering sound legal advice. You will work closely with business, technology, and cross-functional teams to structure, draft, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements, and help develop scalable legal processes that enable the business to move quickly.

Key job responsibilities

  • Structure, draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including vendor contracts, licensing agreements, professional services agreements, and procurement-related contracts.
  • Provide day-to-day legal counsel to internal business clients across WWGS on transactional and commercial matters.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and resolve legal issues efficiently.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and standardize contracting processes, including developing template agreements and playbooks to reduce negotiation cycles.
  • Support compliance and training initiatives related to contracting policies and approval frameworks.
  • Manage external counsel relationships as needed to support transactional workstreams.
  • Advise on legal and regulatory matters that arise in connection with commercial transactions, including vendor management considerations.
  • Exercise sound judgment in ambiguous situations and escalate complex or novel issues appropriately.
